The City of The Dalles Police Department has completed the transition to a new duty sidearm. TDPD is committed to keeping our police equipment modern, well cared for and ready to perform when it is needed. The Department recently planned for a lifecycle replacement of all of our duty sidearms, which included an upgrade to the sighting systems.

A victim was transported to Mid-Columbia Medical Center where the victim was pronounced deceased. A suspect has been arrested for murder in the first degree and unlawful use of a weapon.
Multiple police officers were called out to the intersection of Kelly Avenue and 11th Street on Monday, Oct. 10 at about 4:50 p.m. after a local man was shot in the leg with a handgun.
"On June 14, 2022, at about 6:30 p.m., Officer Reams, with his field training officer, Perez responded to a report of a swimmer in distress in the Columbia River near the ferry dock,” said The Dalles Police Chief Tom Worthy. “The Columbia River was extremely high due to continual rains, and there were areas of flooding in the city. Water temperature was 56 degrees in the river.”
One local resident received a second chance at life after The Dalles Police Sergeant Doug Kramer sprang into action when recognizing the signs that the male was experiencing an overdose of fentanyl earlier this month. Kramer’s ability to save the man under dire circumstances was recognized on Monday, June 27, at The Dalles City Council meeting.
Christopher Allan Jaha, 54, was detained in Portland at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, in connection with the Jan. 22nd assault and robbery of Donald Lewis, according to The Dalles Police Department. Read more here.
