Bikers descended upon The Dalles this afternoon for a ride thru at Route 30 on Second Street as the local restaurant and bar helped raise money for mental health awareness and prevention of youth violence in schools.

The Dalles Cascade Singers are back in action as we prepare for our first live concert in 2021. This Fall concert features music from the hit musicals Anything Goes, West Side Story, Godspell, Rent, and Hamilton. The concert is slated for October and we are inviting new singers to join our group.

CGCC students who transfer to Pacific Northwest College of Art at Willamette University are now able to receive a scholarship of $22,000 per year, guaranteed for up to three-and-a-half years, for a total of $77,000.

The Hood River County Fair will be held on July 21st- July 24th.

Lawson Lundberg was thought to be speech delayed and possibly needing special education after being born 5 weeks early. Surprise! The three-year-old was recently found to have an IQ of 151. Know he wants to donate to charity by painting geographic locations in exchange for contributions to the March of Dimes, which helped him when he was born. Lawson recently painted The Dalles city limits seen here - from memory.

With the onset of extremely hot temperatures in the region over the next few days, WAGAP is opening a Cooling Center at the site adjacent to the Hegewald Center at 710 SW Rock Creek Drive in Stevenson, Washington beginning tomorrow Saturday, June 26 through Tuesday, June 29.

Helping Hands Against Violence announces the opening of Millie’s Place Child Care Center in September in downtown Hood River. Helping Hands is also offering Millie’s Mobile Play and Learn Sessions starting in July. Learn more about the outdoor family-based preschool here.
