Santa is at the top of the list for Family Holiday Night on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Goldendale Grange Hall. The free event is open to all and will include ornament and cookie decorating and making a marshmallow snowman.

The Dalles Worship Choir is in its 19th season of Christmas concerts.  Founded and under the direction of Shawn Lutz (local private music instructor) in 2004.  This ecumenical choir has approximately 44 members this season from six different churches.

The Dalles Chamber, in collaboration with Columbia Gorge Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Blossomly Cultura, is thrilled to announce a special listening session titled "Turning Dreams into Goals," specifically aimed at supporting Latino-based businesses, both new and established. The festive spirit of giving is returning to Hood River with the third annual "Cookies, Cocoa, and Photos with Santa" event, organized by Jennifer Josephson of Windermere Real Estate and Cara McNulty of Kiddie City Child Care Facility. Members from the Portland branch of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) caught wind that we here in The Dalles boast five pipe organs, while many towns across the country our size have none. AGO contacted local organist Garry Estep to see about arranging an impromptu “organ crawl” so that some of their members might get literally “hands-on” to see what we have.

We have to become a little more curious and a little less certain. The goal is to attempt to understand why someone has an opposing view. In many cases, the two in dialog discover common ground - a place where both opinions can exist and nobody’s head will explode.

A Dia de los Muertos celebration at The Dalles Wasco County Library, saw an enormous attendance of over 250 community members last night, November 2nd from 5-7:30 p.m. The event included a resource fair, live music performances from Janelle Santos, and Los Renagados, dancing, pastries, tacos from Tacos Tumbras, hot camelia (a sweet cinnamon spiced herbal tea), ofrendas, crafts, lotería (a game of chance similar to bingo), face painting and a raffle.

The Dalles Main Street, The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce, and Downtown The Dalles will host a trick or treat event complete with costumes, candy and fun on October 31, 20243 from 3-5 p.m. The event will also include the Monsters in the Park After Dark party at The Dalles City Park from 4 to 6 p.m. The event will include music, treats, yard games, a haunted room and more!

Break out your chain mail and polish your jousting stick! Columbia Gorge Pride Youth Council is back with another free all ages dance. Festivities will kick off at Hood River Hotel at 102 Oak St on November 11 at 6 p.m. and run until 10 p.m. There will be a medieval and renaissance faire themed dance, drag, food, crafts and opportunities for attendees to show off their bard skills.
