$2 Million in Promised Economic Development Funds Headed to The Gorge
Oregon’s U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley has announced that $2 million in federal funding is headed to the Columbia River Gorge to support economic revitalization efforts. The announcement is the culmination of a years-long effort to fulfill a promise made when Congress passed the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area Act.

Due to team ( St. Helens team) quarantine, the previously scheduled game with St. Helens at St. Helens this coming Friday, September 10th has been canceled. The JV2 football game has also been canceled with St. Helens.

The Dalles Riverhawks volleyball team had their first match of the season on Thursday, September 2nd. They played the North Marion Huskies and won all three games. A team with only one senior and lots of juniors, the Hawks are young but talented.
Lyle School Seeks Candidates for School Board Opening
The Lyle School District Board of Directors is seeking a district resident to fill an at-large position on the board, which was vacated by Lisa Bren on July 28. The appointee will serve through the next general election in 2023, and may file for election to the position. Applications due by September 17th.
