White Salmon-Bingen Rotary Club Golf Tournament draws 72 players
As this event had to be postponed last year due to the pandemic, this year's event drew 72 players and 18 teams all excited to hit the course. It was easily the most players in the last ten years. Read more to find out who won.

The Dalles Riverhawks football team is playing the Pendleton Buckaroos tonight at 7PM in Pendleton. The Riverhawks are coming off of a huge win against La Salle Prep, beating them 76-44.

TD City Council hears concerns on Google's Water Need
The Dalles City Council drew an audience of 74 and comments from 14 as they discussed a plan to provide billions of gallons of water to two new proposed Google data centers in the Port of The Dalles on Monday, Sept. 27.
Detour Ahead: Section of 10th Street Closes Oct. 4th for Fire Hydrant Repair
Beginning October 4, 2021, the City of The Dalles Public Works Department will replace a damaged fire hydrant and fire hydrant valve at the intersection of E 10 th St. and Laughlin St. The work is expected to be completed in three days.

CGRC would lower incarceration rates of those with mental and behavioral health problems; improve local access to health services
LPSCC has submitted a $50,000 grant proposal to the Oregon Health Authority to pay planning costs of a Columbia Gorge Resolution Center. The Resolution Center would lower mental and behavioral health related incarcerations and improve access to mental and behavioral health services in the Wasco, Sherman, and Hood River Counties.

How much water does Google need to cool two new data plants in The Dalles? They're not spilling any details, "trade secrets," they say. But their request, which could be in the billions of gallons, has City Councilors looking at a massive potable water infrastructure upgrade that would increase water production capacity by 75 percent in the near future - billions of gallons per year.
Riverhawk Football Team Wins Their First Game of the Season in a Shootout
The Dalles Riverhawks football team played La Salle Prep on Friday, September 24th in Milwaukee, and oh boy it was a shootout with the Hawks winning 76-44. The Hawks racked up 720 total yards on offense.
50-Year Vision Quest Brings Once In a Lifetime Photography Experience to the Gorge
World renowned photographer and Mosier resident John Chao invites the public to share a once-in-a-lifetime experience at MoonMountain Highway in Bingen on September 25th, from 6-9 p.m. Chao will display a series of his mega-photographs for the first time ever and will give a talk about his new book 50-Year Vision Quest, a penned memoir composed of 500 photographs taken over his 50 year adventure with the camera.
