After years of delay due to the covid pandemic, the Tile Project, a community art fundraiser for The Hood River Warming Shelter, is finally ready for unveiling. Art Mendoza, Owner of La Michocana Store, stopped a robbery at his store in The Dalles last month and has already had his day in court with the robber. The would-be thief was sentenced to 18 months behind bars last week.

A house fire on the southwest corner of West 16th and Kingsley Street brought multiple fire agencies and police as flames billowed above the front porch of the residence at 1:15 p.m. today, Oct. 19.
