Six Rivers Dispute Resolution Center offers Public Event on Restorative Justice on Sept 12
Six Rivers Dispute Resolution Center is hosting a free public event regarding restorative justice on Tuesday, September 12 from 5:15-7:00 PM at The Dalles Civic Auditorium, 323 E 4th St, The Dalles. From 6:00-7:00, Six Rivers will present on its upcoming pilot restorative justice program, and on the results of community interviews and a community survey on harm and healing. Refreshments will be served.
SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans Available to Washington Small Businesses
Small nonfarm businesses in six Washington counties and neighboring counties in Oregon are now eligible to apply for low-interest federal disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration. These loans offset economic losses because of reduced revenues caused by drought in the following primary county that began July 4.

Food For All raises $32,000 in support of WAGAP Food Banks

Police and Firefighters were called out to the corner of 10th and Mount Hood streets this morning, Sept. 5, at about 10:50 a.m. when a Ford Explorer appeared to have run a stop sign and then hit a utility pole.
Teen STEM Leaders Program Continues Thanks to Oregon Community Foundation Grant
The ‘Learning to Lead’ program will continue for the second year thanks to a Career Connected Learning grant awarded to the Columbia Gorge STEM Hub from the Oregon Community Foundation. The grant will continue to allow the Columbia Gorge STEM Hub, in partnership with OSU/Wasco County 4-H, to hire high school students in Hood River, Gilliam, and Wasco Counties to serve as Teen STEM Leaders.

Dufur Fire Update: Winslow Road Fire Stopped at 950 Acres
The Winslow Road Fire has been successfully halted, as reported by the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) Central Oregon. The fast growing fire was propelled by winds up to 45 mph, and quickly grew to 950 acres of land. The terrain included a mix of timber, brush, and recently harvested wheatland.
