Oregon’s unemployment rate stayed at 3.4% in August, the same as July. This tied Oregon’s record low of 3.4%, which also was reached in November and December 2019. Since May, Oregon’s unemployment rate has been below 4%. The U.S. unemployment rate rose from 3.5% in July to 3.8% in August.
The Gorge Technology Alliance (GTA) and the Columbia Gorge STEM Hub share the mission of ensuring equitable access to quality STEM experiences for all students. A 4 acre fire was reported near Ridgetop Road south of Dufur, OR today at around 3:09 p.m. the fire is contained and is now on mop up. Cross-country runners are, in general, pretty mild-mannered individuals. It’s always a bit of a surprise, then, when some hidden ferocity comes to light: charging up hills like warriors, arms pumping into a finish or battling (rolling?) through a mud pit...and once finished, wiping the mud off and cooling down.
