Festivities will kick off at Hood River Hotel at 102 Oak St on November 11 at 6 p.m. and run until 10 p.m. There will be a medieval and renaissance faire themed dance, drag, food, crafts and opportunities for attendees to show off their bard skills.

Flock license plate cameras are being met with mixed emotions and budgetary concerns in communities throughout Klickitat County as leaders worry about the burden of the $3,000 annual cost per camera and privacy issues.

The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning for the Eastern Columbia River Gorge and Southern Washington. The warning will remain in affect from midnight on October 27, 2023 until 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023.

TD city residents with service to a 32-gallon trash can will see their rate increase 10 cents to $21.89 per month. This includes the Household Hazardous Waste surcharge of $1.40. The Dalles Disposal offers free service to seniors 85 years and older. It also supports multiple community cleanups at no cost to volunteers or weekend warriors.

This morning at approximately 10 a.m., Wasco County 911 received multiple reports of a delivery truck that had gone into the Columbia River at Milepost 99 near Celilo Park. The Wasco County Sheriff's Office and Oregon State Police responded as well as Mid Columbia Fire & Rescue, Umatilla Fire (in the area for training), and ODOT.

At the end of today, Oct. 25th, we have received 2447 ballots back from our 14,659 eligible voters for a 16.69% participation rate. 

In a split vote, The Dalles City Council approved a new ordinance that will require businesses utilizing shopping carts to retrieve them within 72 hours of them being reported abandoned.
