The first days of spring are starting to show here in the Dalles and it was a perfect day to spend outside. It was a warm day at the skate park on Feb. 23, when Landon Haynes, 15, Dufur was spotted grinding and flipping on his skateboard. There were many other kids there, but Landon was the most excited to show off his tricks.

It was a rainy afternoon here in The Dalles on Monday, January 8th, 2023 when Zeb Stelzer, 15, who lives just outside of Dufur, was seen at the high school. Stelzer is an up-and-coming runner in the Dalles High School. While cross country isn't till the spring, and is taking this opportunity for winter practice to improve his time and distance.

The three work at Schuepbach Builders of Hood River, which is now into building forms to pour a new walkway at the restored Plantation-Colonial Revival at 106 E. Fourth Street.
