It wasn’t easy. It took Chase Sam two cycles of applications, several years of effort, and multiple interviews with state senators and congressmen, but he has now realized his long-cherished dream. Chase said his experience with the Wasco County 4-H & TDMS underwater robotics (ROV) program and high school football helped prepare him for the Academy.

Lyle School Bus Drivers Picket For Job Protections; School District Responds
Lyle, Washington - Bus drivers from Lyle School District gathered in Lyle and at The Dalles Bridge in protest over the weekend to voice their concerns over a new contract with Mid-Columbia Transportation Cooperative. The picket, organized by the local chapter of the Public School Employees of Washington (PSE) union, aimed to raise awareness about the importance of retaining local bus drivers and protecting their rights.

Dufur School welcomed the incoming class of Freshman on Wednesday, June 1, and also recognized seniors with Scholarship Awards of $135,000. Superintendent, Jack Henderson, asked the seniors if they realized how special these circumstances were at Dufur School, and all of the graduates nodded enthusiastically.

The Dalles Middle School Music and Theater Department presents Disney’s Moana JR. at The Dalles Middle School on Friday and Saturday, May 12-13, 2023 and Friday and Saturday, May 19-20, 2023. The 90-minute musical adventure, designed for middle school-aged performers, is based on the 2016 Disney film Moana. The seventh and eighth grade cast and crew includes 45 students led by TDMS Music Teacher, Leslie Sullivan.
