A little 'trail magic' at Pacific Crest Trail Days in Cascade Locks
Thousands flocked to Cascade Locks this weekend, Aug. 20-22, as the annual PCT Days kicked into high gear after a hiatus during COVID. Above - “Wild” - that’s his trail name- ran the obstacle course at the Merrell booth. He knocked it off in 20 seconds while the camera person was also blown over. See black shoes.

Richardson to Represent: TDHS student Going to DYW Nationals
Zora Richardson will be taking her talents to Alabama after she wowed judges in Salem on Aug. 7, winning the Oregon Distinguished Young Women’s Program. The ASB President at TDHS said she looked forward to helping out with the 2022 program in Wasco County and thanked those that brought her up.
Moose Lodge hosting Family-Oriented Block Party on Saturday, Aug. 28
The Dalles Moose Lodge 2075 is hosting a Community Block Party on Saturday, August 28, 2021, from 10 am until 10 pm. This will take place in the parking lot of Discounts Plus and the event will be geared toward families.

Cascade Singers bustin' loose, plan live concert for Fall
The Dalles Cascade Singers are back in action as we prepare for our first live concert in 2021. This Fall concert features music from the hit musicals Anything Goes, West Side Story, Godspell, Rent, and Hamilton. The concert is slated for October and we are inviting new singers to join our group.

FORT DALLES FOURTH : LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!
The gloves are coming off this weekend as The Dalles gets ready to rumble with a stellar set of Fourth of July festivities. Neighbor to neighbor, shoulder to shoulder. Volunteers have blown it out of the sky raising thousands of dollars to bring one of the premier fireworks displays in the entire Northwest with 22 plus minutes of bang and blast, oohs and ahs.
Collaboration Brings 5 Weeks of Kids Art Camp to TD
A partnership between local art organizations is bringing a full slate of interesting art classes for local children in The Dalles, said The Dalles Art Center’s Director Scott Stephenson. Students generally falling into grades second through fifth can explore mosaic tiles, try some bucket drumming, use recycled materials to make mixed media costumes or jump into fiber arts, learning about knitting, sewing and dyeing.
Riverfront Revitalization to bring Relaxation
The west end of The Dalles Riverfront Trail is getting some needed repairs this week and is expected to reopen at the end of June. That is welcome news to fishermen, bikers and walkers, rollerbladers, skaters, scooter riders, recumbent cruisers, swimmers, lunchtime loopers, diggity dog movers and skateboard cruisers.
