29-year-old Marcos Vargas received a 90-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to charges related to a chase that started in Arlington, led to a carjacking of a Subaru in The Dalles, and ended in a wreck on Highway 97 near Maupin where he fought with officers, was tazed and taken into custody.

Dalles Bridge closes tonight, Sept. 9; plan accordingly
Starting Tonight, Sept. 9, The Dalles Bridge will be closed from Thursday nights at 8 p.m through Monday mornings at 6 a.m. and this will continue every weekend through May 2022. The detour is the Biggs Junction bridge across the river during closure times.

Four arrests made in local sex worker sting
Investigators posted fake advertisements online for commercial sex. Four arrests were made as a result of the operation. The majority of those arrests were local individuals who reside in the area of The Dalles.
