Coming into the match, the Hawks were hoping for redemption since the last time these two teams played each other the Buckaroos won 3-2. This time around the Riverhawks won 3-2.

History Proves Prickly for Local Mural Project
The Dalles Main Street’s volunteer Walldogs subcommittee will be hosting a voting and public input event* at The National Neon Sign Museum on Oct. 15th from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The group is seeking votes and public input in deciding 15 new themes for historical murals to be painted in downtown The Dalles next summer. The recent release of themes, images and descriptions of proposed murals has led to an outpouring of concerns from local organizations and community members. Concerned citizens pointed to a lack of diversity in the mural topics and the inclusion of individuals and enterprises that were directly responsible for the murder of hundreds of indigenous peoples. Also brought up was the omission of marginalized community members voices in the mural topic selection process and a lack of collaboration with local organizations and artists.

TD Council recognizes NORCOR Deputy for saving drowning boy from Columbia
The Dalles City Council Recognized NORCOR deputy Alicia Tally for heroism in saving a drowning boy who had been swept away in the current of the Columbia River on July 6. Tally received the accommodation at The City Council’s regular meeting on Monday, Sept. 11.

TDHS Girls Soccer Beat Hood River for the First Time in 13 Seasons
The Dalles Riverhawks soccer team played the Hood River Valley Eagles yesterday in The Dalles. The Hawks haven’t beaten HRV in 13 seasons and the Hawks were ready to beat that streak. The last time these two teams played HRV beat the Hawks in double overtime in the IMC playoffs. The Hawks were out for revenge and succeeded at getting it winning 2-1.
