A loud explosion and a car fire occurred on Saturday, March 5 at about 3 a.m., according to neighbors living on Fourth Street in The Dalles. The shell of a burned-out Ford Escape was still parked at the corner of Third and Pentland Streets this morning, Monday, March 7.

Races for Wasco County Commissioner will soon be heating up for the May Primary. There are two seats up for grabs and five candidates running. The filing deadline is March 8. The Dufur Recreation District will also ask voters to pass a three-year $165,000 operating levy.
