Dan Garrett Watson arrested and charged with Murder of Amanda Harman of The Dalles
35-year-old Dan Garrett Watson has been lodged at NORCOR jail in The Dalles on a charge of murder in the death of Amanda Harman who was found in late March at her home after being stabbed multiple times. Amanda was well-liked, respected and loved by family and friends, according to authorities.

In a turn of events, Jacob David Wilson, 32, was ruled unfit to proceed in court on May 18th, 2023. Wilson had been held on a charge of murder, unlawful use of a weapon, fourth-degree assault, and menacing in connection with the killing of Amber Tracy on April 5th in east The Dalles.

Magic Mushroom Center to Open Doors and Minds in Hood River this July
Vital Reset, a psilocybin center in Hood River, OR was officially licensed on Friday, June 16, 2023. The center, located in the heart of downtown Hood River at 1020 Wasco St, Suite J, hopes to open their doors by mid to late July of 2023. The center will serve clients age 21 and over who are seeking alternative treatment options for mental health, personal and spiritual growth, and end of life peace by the mid to late July of 2023.
Gorge Projected to get hotter, drier
Global temperature increases won’t spare the Gorge said Dr. Oriana Chegwidden, a hydrologist and research scientist during an environmental conference at The Discovery Center in The Dalles in late May. “Our data shows that the Pacific Northwest will get warmer, likely a 5-10 degree increase, and wetter,” she said. “By 2080, snow accumulation will be gone.”
