Dufur Fire Update: Winslow Road Fire Stopped at 950 Acres
The Winslow Road Fire has been successfully halted, as reported by the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) Central Oregon. The fast growing fire was propelled by winds up to 45 mph, and quickly grew to 950 acres of land. The terrain included a mix of timber, brush, and recently harvested wheatland.

Fire in Downtown Hood River; Multiple Businesses Evacuated
A fire was reported at Inside Out Fitness located at 15 3rd St in downtown Hood River, was reported this morning at 7:51a.m. Hood River Fire and Resuce, Mid Columbia Fire and Resuce Wy’East Fire, Mosier Fire and Cascade Locks Fire responded to the scene. “This all happened in seconds,” said Richard Dant, owner of Inside Out Fitness.

School is Back on in TD tomorrow morning, Aug. 29th; Drivers should use extra caution
It’s a great reminder for drivers to add a little caution tomorrow morning as some kids will be walking to school and additional bus and car traffic will be on the road and around school drop-off sites. School speed zones are set at 20 miles per hour to ensure students safely make it to their classrooms.

It's Finally Happening - The Dalles is Ending "Yellow Light Sunday"
The new flashing yellow schedule will be seven (7) days a week, 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The purpose of this change is to increase the safety of the traveling public. The Traffic Safety Commission has received several concerns regarding the safety of pedestrians and bicyclists crossing 2nd and 3rd Streets at the signalized intersections in the downtown area.
