First Phase of TD Marina Clean-Up Finishes Today, Oct. 22
The change is pretty dramatic. The Dalles Marina, after 10 days of major clean-up, is looking a whole lot better on its western front. A fire destroyed 8 houseboats and sank two vessels on July. 4, prompting the clean-up that began on Oct. 12.
The Howards Haven Animal Sanctuary Hosts 4th Annual Pumpkin Patch in Lyle
The Howards Haven Animal Sanctuary will host its 4th annual Pumpkin Patch event on October 23rd and 24th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 37 Monogan Howard Rd in Lyle. The event is free to attend although donations to the animal sanctuary are encouraged.

Discovery Center gets creepy crawly for kids on Saturday, Oct. 30
Celebrate Halloween with a day dedicated to creepy crawly bugs and bats on Saturday, October 30th from 10 am to 3 pm at Columbia Gorge Discovery Center. Pacific Northwest entomologist Maggie Freeman will be providing lots of fun educational materials including a bug collection of large native moths, butterflies, beetles, cicadas, bumblebees, grasshoppers, dragonflies and LIVE Madagascar hissing cockroaches.

TD Civic Auditorium getting prepped for facelift
The Dalles Civic Auditorium will be getting quite a facelift in weeks to come as H.B. Painters, Inc. paints the entire building. But first, a lot of prep work must occur. Antonio Vergara Cordoba and Jeff Sprague were hard at it this morning, Thursday, Oct. 14 giving the building a second power wash with hot water.

The 2020 crop year is one to be celebrated by the 37,200 farms and ranches that make up Oregon’s diverse agricultural community. Oregon is home to more than 225 commodities, everything from cattle to cherries to hazelnuts and wheat. And Production was great in 2020, according to the Oregon Department of Agriculture.
