American Queen Voyages has declared bankruptcy and canceled 20 plus stops in the City of The Dalles in the upcoming season. The cancellation could mean a $110,000+ loss in tourism dollars for The Dalles but locals are working to find solutions.
Construction of New Commercial Building Nears Completion in The Dalles
Progress is being made on the construction of a new 5,500 square foot commercial building at the intersection of Lone Pine Blvd and NE Lone Pine Blvd in The Dalles. The new structure sits kitty-corner from Water’s Edge and across the Street from McDonalds.

After years of negotiations and a decades long court battle over dam operations, a historic partnership agreement has been signed by President Joe Biden, the Governors of Washington and Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, Yakama, Umatilla, and Nez Perce, to restore wild salmon populations, expand clean energy production, and reinforce the economic benefits of the Columbia River system.

Fatal Crash on HWY 97
On Monday, February 19, 2024, at 4:16 a.m., Oregon State Police responded to a five-vehicle crash on Hwy 97, near milepost 107.5, in Jefferson County. The preliminary investigation indicated two southbound commercial motor vehicles were traveling on icy roads when the trailing CMV struck the rear end of the lead CMV.
