The Dalles Art Center invites the community to experience Elemental: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Spirit, a dynamic open exhibition exploring the fundamental forces that shape our world and inner lives. The exhibit opens with a free public Opening Party on Friday, January 19, from 5–7 p.m., featuring artwork by regional artists working across a wide range of media.
Dance contest packs the house in The Dalles; fundraiser has huge success
More than 700 people filled The Dalles High School Auditorium for the 12th annual Dancing With the Gorge Stars, turning the high-energy dance competition into the largest single-night fundraiser in town. While Rachel Carter claimed the mirror ball trophy, the real victory belonged to the community, which raised thousands of dollars to support affordable live music, education, and outreach programs across the Mid-Columbia region.
Mid-Columbia Region Prepares for 2026 Point-in-Time Count
Mid-Columbia Community Action Council (MCCAC) and Washington Gorge Action Programs (WAGAP) are preparing for the 2026 Point-in-Time (PIT) Count, scheduled for January 28, with surveys being collected between Monday, January 26 and Friday, January 30.
