As the silly string descended on their sweat and rain-soaked hair, the Riverhawk runners took in the moment at the 4A-2 Tri-Valley Conference Championship at McIver Park in Estacada. The memory of last year’s District and State championship had haunted this year’s teams like a specter - and it seemed a new championship was the best way to relegate old expectations to the past.

Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum hosts the 5th annual Columbia River Indian Autumn on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free and features artisans, musicians, cultural dancers, storytellers, food, and vendors from the Columbia River’s Native community and beyond. It takes family and good schools - A major factor in Jorge Barragan’s success is that people in The Dalles know and trust him. The 2010 TDW High School grad is big on giving back to our community. He is one of the few Spanish-speaking realtors in the gorge. He’s also a member of Rotary and the MCMC Health Foundation. His Wife, Chelsea coaches soccer and Jorge helps out. Win, Win, Win, Win….

Voter participation in TDHS school bond hits 9.17 %; Trend could lead to large turnout

At the end of the day on Oct. 23, Wasco County Elections Clerk Lisa Gambee and her staff received 1,348 ballots back from our 14,693 eligible voters for a 9.17% participation rate. It appears locals are quite invested in voting in this off-election as the North Wasco County School District is proposing a 30-year $140 million bond to build a new high school at the SE corner of the Wahtonka High School property.
