Rebecca understands that successful School Board Directors must work hard to research decisions, must enter the position with their minds free from personal preexisting assumptions about students, teachers and administration, and should focus on current realities and necessities to meet the needs of our students.
Columbia Gorge Community College is a great asset to our region. Nate Stice will be a major asset to its board of education.
You know him, you love him… and if you don’t, you should.
John Nelson is running for Board Director for North Wasco County School Board, Zone 4.
He’s been on the Board for 8 years and wants to continue working toward some goals the Board has set…
Our region is lucky to have Columbia Gorge Community College as an asset for our students and industry. During this May's election, Wasco County voters will have a chance to select new members to its board of directors, and I am writing to express my support for Nate Stice.
I am so excited that Holly Gove is running for North Wasco County School Dist. 21, Zone 5 School Board position!
Holly is a go-getter and full of energy and ‘get-to-it’ ness!! When she sets her mind to a task-she makes it happen! I’ve known Holly for a number of years and she is full of integrity!
Who we elect in our elections matters, more so than ever. That’s why we need experienced people like John Nelson leading North Wasco County School District 21. John is one of the most invested and dedicated community volunteers I’ve worked with. I saw firsthand John’s passion for our community when we worked together on The Dalles Main Street projects where he brought a strong vision and willingness to roll up his sleeves to get things done.
I would encourage everyone in zone #4 to vote for John Nelson who is running for reelection to the North Wasco County School board. John is not only a wonderful and kind person, he is a long-time resident and dedicated advocate for this community.
When one looks at Nate’s work, it makes sense that his career has seen him in places that leverage those skills, including advocating for students and higher education at the University of Oregon, and his current position helping communities in our area work through pressing issues. His experience will add additional insight to the group of thoughtful leaders on the CGCC campus.
John Nelson is a devoted community servant who has earned the right to be re-elected to the School District No. 21 Board.
I wholeheartedly recommend re-electing John Nelson to the North Wasco School Board.
I have had the pleasure of working with John in different capacities and found him an invaluable asset to the community.
The most immediate hope lies in House Bill 2006 (HB 2006) which is currently working its way through the Oregon Legislature. HB 2006 restablishes the shelter siting flexibility that was originally allowed (for a 90 day window) in 2020 by House Bill 4001.
We want to bring the upcoming SDS Lumber Company sale to your attention. We ask you to consider how you might best serve the county in this process.
As we start a new year full of hope and promise, I want to express my gratitude for the support that Washington Gorge Action Programs (WAGAP) has received from our local communities during this past year.
It's a time of Thanksgiving and also the start of the holiday retail season. Now more than ever, it's time to give back to our local businesses throughout the Gorge
During this tense pandemic time, it’s all the more important for us to hang together. Maybe we need a more respectful, unifying leader, like Solea Kabakov, one who exhibits a more compassionate response to the needs of all our citizens.
