Dirt Hugger’s Tyler Miller got some help from Crestline Construction’s Steve Mandero and Kevin Henderson on the installation of a 12-inch storm drain on the property at 749 Snipes Street this morning, Sept. 17.

“The city council unanimously approved the allocation of American Rescue Plan funds for the Sorosis Park Improvement Project ,” said Rich Mays, Mayor of The City of The Dalles, “We think it’s an important project for the community.”

The Dalles City Council approved $1.66 million in new projects including $400,000 for parks that will be paid for through federal dollars. Between Sept. 1 and Sept. 8, schools in Wasco and Sherman counties reported 19 cases of COVID-19. School-based cases can be reported among students, staff or volunteers. None were due to transmission in the school setting.
