You did it! To celebrate its golden anniversary of service to the Gorge community, The Next Door’s 50th Anniversary Campaign sought to raise $50,000. The community exceeded that goal, gifting over $57,000!
At times, we all need a little help. Here in our communities, there are many people who have developmental and intellectual disabilities who have jobs and live independently. But they can't always do it alone. Oftentimes a personal support worker or a job coach is needed to help them in daily or work-related tasks. Is this the job for you? The Hood River City Council has designated four finalists for the position of City Manager: Charlie Bush, Abigail Elder, Cory Misley, and Keith Stahley and announced an opportunity for the community to meet the finalists at a community reception the evening of Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

A man blasting a shotgun at streetlights in downtown Hood River was pursued by police from three counties in the wee hours of July 17, only later to be found via airplane two hours later on Indian Creek Trail.
The Hood River County Fair will be held on July 21st- July 24th.

Beginning on Tuesday, July 13 work will begin to stabilize the slope on the north side of SR 14 about two miles east of Bingen.
The City of Dalles is enacting a fireworks ban in the city limits through July 9 because of the historic heatwave the region is currently undergoing. Multiple cities in the region, including Hood River, are following suit. The ban will have no effect on large aerial displays permitted by the state fire marshall in both The Dalles and Hood River.
The Mayor of White Salmon has declared an emergency and issued an order imposing a ban on the use of fireworks within White Salmon city limits for Sunday, July 4, 2021.
