MCEDD seeks public input on Regional Public Transit System 

MCEDD is now seeking public input on opportunities to create a regional transit system in the Gorge with an online public open house – open now through November 27, 2022. The online open house includes a map that includes new and expanded services and destinations. The survey gives residents the opportunity to add to or modify that map.

Tribal members to lead Gorge Commission in 2023 following historic vote

From the Columbia River Gorge Commission:

For the first time in the history of the Columbia River Gorge Commission, a member of a federally recognized tribe will lead the organization. During the November 8, 2022, Commission meeting, Carina Miller, of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, was elected as Chair of the Commission.

Gorge jammed and jammin': C Notes start it off in TD Nov. 9

Mid-Columbia Community Concert Association presents The Four C Notes on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at The Dalles Civic Auditorium in The Dalles. Doors open at 6 p.m., show begins at 7 p.m. Lectures, art, music, comedy and entertainment are in good supply during the next few weeks. Check it all out here.

$85k in Google funds used to better train locals for manufacturing

CGCC expands job training at Skills Center with the addition of CNC milling equipment through a grant funded by Google. “This equipment is part of the future of automated manufacturing -- everything from farm equipment to furniture to airplanes,” said the college’s president, Dr. Marta Cronin. “Our students can now master this technology before they enter the workforce, launching them into family-wage jobs.”
