Reaching rural communities to support families who fight food insecurity has become a mission for Anna Henschel. This big-city Chicago resident came to Klickitat County in 2022 and has taken to rural life like a fish takes to water.

Columbia Gorge Pride Alliance (CGPA) hosted their 2nd annual pride parade and resource fair in The Dalles on June 25th. Over 150 people marched in the parade and about 300 people visited the resource fair at Lewis and Clark Festival Park throughout the day.

Sherman 4-H, OSU extension hike 35 into outdoor school near Goldendale
The camp focus was “Not all classrooms have four walls”, and campers had outdoor education on delved into some interesting topics. They learned about bees and pollinators, Leave No Trace when in the outdoors, stream health, hiking to look at flora/fauna/insects, and archery. And, of course, there was singing and games and field activities. And don’t forget the Goldendale Pool.
Art Studio Rockin' Out: Ceramics featured along the bank of Columbia on July 1
Amber Anderson and Jay Matson Bell are two of the six ceramists featured at Yvonne Pepin-Wakefield’s Art Studio, 3735 Klindt Drive, The Dalles. A variety of clay works will be for sale inside the gallery and along The Riverfront Trail, Saturday July 1, 11-1 p.m.
