The Dalles, OR— On June 14, 2023, Mid-Columbia Medical Center and Adventist Health gathered together to officially celebrate the new relationship that advances rural healthcare across The Dalles and Columbia River Gorge. It was revealed that the Mid-Columbia Medical Center will now be known as Adventist Health Columbia Gorge.

The City of The Dalles Beautification Committee has announced a new Tree Grants program, aimed at enhancing the natural beauty of the community and promoting environmental sustainability. The program aims to provide grants to residents within the City Limits of The Dalles to beautify and improve their properties with trees.

Mid-Columbia Community Action Council (MCCAC) is making significant progress on $1.6 million in grant and weatherization funded renovations to The Oregon Motor Motel thanks to the hard work of staff, volunteers, and local contractors. All of whom are rallied around completing the renovation of the 54-room motel which is expected to provide at least 50 transitional housing and shelter units with coordinated supportive services integrated on site in collaboration with community partners.

Retired lawyers and volunteers have joined forces with Portland Community College C.L.E.A.R. Clinic to assist individuals in the Gorge seeking expungement.

Annette Beyers and Mike Richardson talk about plans for improving Sorosis Park and the fundraising that is left to do this morning, June 8. Beyers had maps and brochures about the current fundraising that will go towards landscaping, the construction of an ADA-accessible gazebo/pavilion, and improved walking trails.

Here Come the Riverhawks - TDHS Softball team drills as usual on Thursdays as coaches work to keep this tight-knit team loose and ready to play in what looks to be a great championship game against Henly on Saturday, June 3 in Eugene. More than a hundred anti-hunger advocates and community leaders gathered at the Port of The Dalles May 20th, 2023 to celebrate the Grand Opening of the Columbia Gorge Food Bank warehouse and community food center. Located at 3525 Crates Way in The Dalles, the new, permanent home increases Columbia Gorge Food Bank’s food distribution capacity by over five times its previous facilities, opening a new chapter for communities facing hunger throughout Hood River, Sherman and Wasco counties.
