$700k in COVID relief to be granted to businesses this month

Local businesses hurting from the pandemic may see some financial relief in the form of grants in weeks to come. That may be good news for businesses such as restaurants or gyms that have seen a vast drop in revenue or even forced to temporarily close such as in the case of athletic clubs. TD Starlight Parade Route described

The black line on this map shows where floats will be parked this evening during the Starlight Parade. Parade-goers will be able to drive in the right-hand lane and view the floats, which will be parked along the left side of the street. Get your hot chocolate and marshmallows ready. Tire Slashings Continue in Downtown The Dalles

Several reports of tire slashings in downtown The Dalles were reported on the 8th, 16th, and 17th of this month. Police have taken photos of all vehicles involved but report no suspect info at this time. Threatening messages reading “GET OUT X” were also left on the doors of the five Commodore residents whose tires were slashed, leaving many afraid to return to their homes.

Wasco County had 23 cases of COVID-19 during weekend

Wasco County had 23 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, with 17 coming on Saturday. There are no new large outbreaks in the county at this time that meet the threshold of public reporting (five or more cases at businesses with 30 or more employees). Rather, a majority of Saturday’s 17 reported cases were due to family get-togethers. This falls in line with what is being seen throughout Oregon: Social gatherings are a driver in COVID transmission.
