The Dalles Riverhawk Football Team Loses to Redmond at Home
The Dalles Riverhawks Football team played their second game of the season against league rival Redmond Panthers. The Hawks game was canceled last week so they practiced that week to get extra work in. They unfortunately lost to the Panthers 76-12.

TD Council approves $10k Hiring Bonuses, $1.66 million in projects
The Dalles City Council approved $1.66 million in new projects including $400,000 for parks that will be paid for through federal dollars. Councilors also agreed to signing bonuses for officers willing to move laterally to The Dalles Police Department which is experiencing a staffing crisis. Council was also updated on Google negotiations.

An out-of-season outage will close The Dalles Dam’s navigation lock, Sept. 14-15, 2021. A specialized U.S. Army Corps of Engineers rope-access (climbing) inspection team will be performing an assessment, which is part of a required five-year cycle.

The Dalles City Council recognized Katie and Greg Cummings for their efforts in helping rescue owners of boathouses and assisting law enforcement at The Dalles Marina fire on July 3. Robert Kuenzinger was also awarded for straitening out traffic jam at Sixth and Webber Streets.
