Larch Creek Fire Update July 10: Fire at 3,500 acres; Cause unknown
Last reported resources: 8 engines, 20-person hand crew from USFS Mt Hood, 4 dozers, local landowner resources, and multiple air resources. A type 3 Central Oregon Fire Management Service team has been ordered and is in route. The forecast calls for a high near 96 today, July 10.. Northwest wind will be 7 to 12 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph.

Fifth-grade student Addie Underhill of Dufur School was selected as one of thirteen winners in a statewide annual Calendar Art Contest sponsored by Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC). Addie's artwork was selected among 1,722 entries submitted to the contest showcasing diverse agricultural and natural resource commodities.

The Dalles Riverhawks basketball team played against cross field rivals the Dufur Rangers on Wednesday, Dec 8th in The Dalles in what was a hard-fought game on both sides. The Hawks went on to win 41-27.
Dufur Public Works humping after drinking water tests positive for E. coli; boil-notice in effect
The City of Dufur has a boil water notice in effect for local residents after receiving a positive test for E. coli at a single testing site according to Public Works Superintendent Brandon Beauchamp. Beauchamp said today, Nov. 2, at 1:45 p.m. that they had shocked the well with chlorine and were flushing pipes to kill and remove the bacteria from the system.
