Jamie Parke of TD and Todd Nunn of Goldendale are long time friends. Parke has been pit crew for Nunn in demolition derby contest for the past decade. But all bets are off on Sunday at the Wasco County Fair as the friends look to smash each other as Parke takes the wheel for the first time in the crushing battle.

Family Free Day brought a lot of smiles at the Wasco County Fair on Thursday, Aug. 15. 4-H youths made their showings, tryouts for the next Wasco County Fair Queen were held and games and challenges abounded. That's just the start as the Rodeo starts tonight at 7:30 p.m.

The upcoming Wasco County Fair is set to shine even brighter this weekend, thanks to a drone light show sponsored by Google. The high-tech spectacle, accompanied by music, will take place on both Friday and Saturday nights, offering a stunning and safe alternative to traditional fireworks.

The Wasco County Fairgrounds will be hopping today as check-in for 4-H animals begins. Local kids have been working and learning for months in preparation for showing and selling their animals at the fair, which opens to the public on Thursday, Aug. 15 with Family Free Day. Temps are looking favorable, in the 80s the rest of the week, as the fair runs Aug. 15-18 in Tygh Valley.

The Wasco County Fair may be over 110 years old, but there's always something new to enjoy. The Fair kicks off with Family FREE Day on Thursday (thanks to Waste Connection), so bring your family and enjoy the livestock, crafts, demonstrations, Circus Acts, Interactive Games, and Godfrey The Magician.
