They hit the stage on Thursday, Oct. 6 at The Dalles Civic. They’re not just musicians but educators and ambassadors of culture and a ton of fun.

$85k in Google funds used to better train locals for manufacturing

CGCC expands job training at Skills Center with the addition of CNC milling equipment through a grant funded by Google. “This equipment is part of the future of automated manufacturing -- everything from farm equipment to furniture to airplanes,” said the college’s president, Dr. Marta Cronin. “Our students can now master this technology before they enter the workforce, launching them into family-wage jobs.”

TD Developer gets first green light in design to redevelop defunct Griffith Motors

Local developers received a conditional-use permit to design a building that would exceed the city’s building height limitation by 5 feet, taking it to 60 feet tall in downtown The Dalles. It would be the same height as the Commodore Building. However, developers, proposing a mixed-use building of retail and housing, must now submit a site plan and undergo a full review before construction could start.
