Dr. Winnifred Wong of Fairfield, Calif is set to become the Radiation Oncology Clinic Director at Mid Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles in September.

The Dalles, June 30, 2023 - The Sawyer family of The Dalles has recently purchased Columbia Hardware at 24 2nd St. in Stevenson according to a recent post on the Stevenson Downtown Association's facebook page.

Vital Reset, a psilocybin center in Hood River, OR was officially licensed on Friday, June 16, 2023. The center, located in the heart of downtown Hood River at 1020 Wasco St, Suite J, hopes to open their doors by mid to late July of 2023. Through its annual Community Investment Grant Program, Visit Hood River announces the awarding of $27,600 in matching funds to six local organizations.

In a push to secure federal loans to construct a new Hood River Bridge, toll increases are currently being considered and the public is being asked to take a survey to consider two different menus of increases. Cost per auto and pickup would see an increase from $2 to $3 or $3.50 cash and from $1 to $1.75 or $2 on the BreezeBy system, depending on which toll option is used.

Downtown White Salmon was filled with energy and excitement on May 13th, 2023, as local businesses, winemakers, and the White Salmon Arts Council joined forces to organize the White Salmon Wine Walk. The event was held in celebration of the White Salmon Wildflower Festival, and it attracted a bustling crowd from 3 to 8 p.m.

However, representatives from Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), which provides power to the City of Cascade Locks, have now confirmed to Columbia Insight that BPA does plan to charge the city a higher rate for its electricity due in part to the new data center’s power usage. According to a recent City of Cascade Locks memo obtained by Columbia Insight, these new increased rates are expected to cost the city an additional $570,000 a year.
