It’s not a typical high school project, but little is at Riverbend Community School on the Columbia Gorge Community College Campus. “We get to do projects and work with our hands,” said Blake Darr of the landscape project. “It’s a lot better than reading textbooks all day.”

Ceramics as well as throwing a little clay will be happening at The Dalles Art Center this Saturday, May 15 as the gallery showcases its market of incredible pieces brought about by a collaboration of local and regional artists. As expected, five local artists were included in Beyond the Construct: Penny Wallace, Yvonne Wakefield, Savannah Lawton, Tom Bottman, and Jonathan Kranzley. Riverhawks Look to Compete in 5A Districts to Punch a Ticket to State
The Dalles High School’s track team will be attending districts this weekend. In past years the team would bring their varsity team to districts. Their Varsity team is the top 3 athletes at each event and the rest is Junior Varsity. But with sports and the season being complicated because of COVID-19, they’re bringing the whole team. It’s more about giving the kids a good opportunity to get better and make some new PR’s.
Wasco County Election returns at 16%; There's still time to vote
At the end of Wednesday, May 12th Wasco County had received 2905 ballots for a 16.05% return rate, according to Wasco County Clerk Lisa Gambee. Voters have until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18, to drop off their ballots.

Sex Offender Loses Port of TD Candidate Willer's Endorsement
Port of TD Candidate John Willer endorsed Frank Polehn for a CGCC Board Position earlier this month on Facebook and is now retracting the statement since learning Polehn was convicted of attempted sex abuse in the first degree. “I had no idea who that guy was,” Willer said this morning in a brief conversation. Willer said he will release a full statement to CCCNews on the matter later today, Thursday, May 6.
