Winter Storm Warning In Effect Nov 29th-30th for the Columbia River Gorge
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning in the Central and Western Columbia River Gorge from 4 p.m. Nov 29th to mid morning Nov. 30th.
Sense of Place Event: Mitchell Point with Tova Peltz & Kevin Price, Dec. 7th
Mt. Adams Institute presents a Sense of Place lecture featuring the historic Mitchell Point Tunnel past and present. The presentation will occur in-person at the Columbia Center for the Arts in Hood River, Oregon, and via livestream on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 7 p.m.
The Dalles Celebrates 33rd Annual Starlight Parade
The Dalles celebrated the 33rd Starlight Parade and Community Tree Lighting on Friday, Nov. 25th as well as a Shop Small event and a Family Night at The Dalles Civic which included socializing, sleigh rides, a showing of the Grinch, cookie decorating, ornament painting, and a letters to Santa writing station.
Gorge LGBTQ+ Community Holds Vigil for Victims of the Club Q Shooting
LGBTQ+ community members and allies gathered in The Dalles, OR on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2022 to hold a vigil for victims of the Club Q shooting in Colorado which occurred the night of November 19th, just minutes before Transgender Day of Remembrance began.
Gabba Gabba Hey, Turkey Trot underway
The Second Annual Turkey Trot 5k Run/Walk Family Fun Run in The Dalles got underway this morning, our day of the bird, Nov. 24. More than 200 people showed up in their best Thanksgiving duds. This year, all proceeds will go toward the TD Backpack program and then those dollars will be matched by Columbia Gorge Motors up to $5k.

MCEDD seeks public input on Regional Public Transit System
MCEDD is now seeking public input on opportunities to create a regional transit system in the Gorge with an online public open house – open now through November 27, 2022. The online open house includes a map that includes new and expanded services and destinations. The survey gives residents the opportunity to add to or modify that map.

Crews were drilling at the corner of Crates Way and River Road on Thursday, Nov. 17, as 12 new power poles will be erected in the Port of The Dalles in weeks to come. The Power poles lead to Google’s new data center site at 3500 River Road.
Songer takes the lead in Klickitat County Sheriff's race
UPDATE NOV. 17th 2022 at 11:11 p.m.: As of November 17th, 2022 at 11:11 p.m there is an estimated 1 vote left to count in Klickitat County and the voter turnout in Klickitat County is at 72.52%. Klickitat County will certify the election results on the 29th and then send them to the Washington Secretary of State’s Office,. The Secretary of State Office has until Dec. 8th to certify the statewide results.
