Here Come the Riverhawks - TDHS Softball team drills as usual on Thursdays as coaches work to keep this tight-knit team loose and ready to play in what looks to be a great championship game against Henly on Saturday, June 3 in Eugene. The Team is equally good on the field as they are at knocking home runs at a record pace.

Opening on Thursday, June 8th, 2023 the Small Works Exhibit at The Dalles Art Center is a window into the talent of local and regional artists. Twenty-nine pieces of art were selected from a list of over sixty submissions.

A Wasco County Deputy had a wild run-in this morning, June 1, at 2:33 a.m. when traveling on Interstate 84 near The Dalles, when a wrong-way driver almost hit their cruiser. It’s the second wrong-way driver on I-84 near The Dalles in the past 20 days.

The Put the Scenic Back in Sorosis fundraiser aims to raise $347,000 in funds for phase two of the park rehabilitation project which will involve tree plantings, landscaping, the construction of an ADA accessible gazebo/pavilion, and improved walking trails. 

Donna Henderson, an LCSW and psychotherapist from Maupin, OR, shares why she always asks her clients what role physical outdoor activity plays in their lives. “The fact is, for possibly the majority of us, regular, moderate physical activity alone is as effective for mild to moderate depression and anxiety as either antidepressant drugs or “talk therapy,” says Henderson.

Van Tilburg has been the Health Officer for Hood River County Health Department for five years. “I love the challenge, the enthusiasm and the impact of public health,” he said. He now serves as health officer for both NCPHD and Hood River County.

TDHS Softball, 23 wins 3 loses, takes on Astoria, 19-6, tonight, May 26, in the playoff quarterfinal in the OSAA 4A bracket. They’ve got a home-field advantage at 16th Street Ballpark in The Dalles. The girls have not lost since March and burned Seaside earlier this week in a 16-0 route. The first pitch is at 6 p.m. Like the long ball? They set the record in that this year too.

Hood River Fire & EMS is celebrating good news after receiving $384,025 in grant funding from the Oregon State Fire Marshal (OSFM).
