Columbia Gorge Discovery Center to Host the Archaeology Roadshow on Nov. 18th
Celebrate the archaeology and history of the Pacific Northwest at the 1st Archaeology Roadshow in The Dalles, to be held on Saturday, November 18th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the River Gallery of Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum at 5000 Discovery Drive, The Dalles, OR 97058. The event is free and open to the public.

The first-time event headed up by the board at the Home At Last animal shelter saw a great crowd as additional chairs and tables were called for as the room swelled to over 60 people.

Songer stated that he believes arresting someone for killing a wolf when it is attacking or killing livestock to be “a violation of the individual’s Constitutional rights.”
Over 250 People Attend Dia de los Muertos Celebration in The Dalles
A Dia de los Muertos celebration at The Dalles Wasco County Library, saw an enormous attendance of over 250 community members last night, November 2nd from 5-7:30 p.m. The event included a resource fair, live music performances from Janelle Santos, and Los Renagados, dancing, pastries, tacos from Tacos Tumbras, hot camelia (a sweet cinnamon spiced herbal tea), ofrendas, crafts, lotería (a game of chance similar to bingo), face painting and a raffle.

Wild Brew cafe, located at 418 E Second St in The Dalles opened for business yesterday. In fact, the cafe was so full of patrons looking to support the grand opening that the cafe had run out of mozzarella cheese for their pizzas!

GOBHI has made preparations to sell its former property at 401 E. 3rd St. to Wasco County. The downtown 3rd Street building would serve as office space for county staff and existing tenants. The Dalles, OR, October 31, 2023 – The St. Vincent de Paul Society of The Dalles (SVdP), a non-profit that offers aid to those in need, has found itself in the City’s crosshairs. The City of The Dalles is suing SVDP in pursuit of shutting SVDP down for up to a year and a monetary award of $10,000.
