USDA offers assistance in livestock, crop loss due to winter storm events
First, the Livestock Indemnity Program (LIP) and Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honeybee and Farm-raised Fish Program (ELAP) reimburse producers for a portion of the value of livestock, poultry, and other animals that died as a result of a qualifying natural disaster event– like these winter storms.
10th Annual Dancing With The Gorge Stars Crowns a Winner
A new champion was crowned at the 10th annual Dancing With The Gorge Stars event on Friday night. Dufur School teacher, Judy Ford, took home the mirror-ball trophy with her amazing performance of the cha cha to “Barbie Girl”. The event was kicked off with a performance by The Dalles Dazzling Dancers, a group of 12 local students who danced to “Try Anything’” by Shakira.

Stelzer is an up-and-coming runner in the Dalles High School. While cross country isn't till the spring, and is taking this opportunity for winter practice to improve his time and distance.

The Dalles Elks Lodge 303 presented a $15,000.00 check to Meals on Wheels on Thursday January 4, 2024. The Elks annual donation has become especially important in the last two years due to funding cuts.
