We have a great night of music arranged for this Friday with the Soulard Boys at the UCC church in The Dalles. This group is a mix of top-tier musicians playing high-energy traditional Irish music.

Starting October 13th, the underpass between 6th St and 2nd St on Hostetler Street will be closed to all traffic for underground storm pipe installation. The closure will be in effect 24/7 with an estimated duration of 3 weeks.

The City of The Dalles Public Works Department will work on a pavement preservation project on Monday, October 13, 2025, through Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the following location: E 13th St. between Washington St. and Federal St. – Full road closure during work hours, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

On the latest CCCNews Podcast, Executive Director and co-founder Kiara Kashubs described how the Gorge Farmer Collective started in March 2020, when farmers suddenly lost access to restaurants and markets. The plan was for the rescue dog I’d chosen to be crammed in a crate and driven by van from Texas to The Dalles. The first text message I received from the Mutts and Meows Rescue in Missouri City, Texas, said they were departing from Texas on Sunday, then it was changed to Monday morning, then to late Monday afternoon. After a flurry of text messages, they reported the van left on Monday evening.

The Covid-19 vaccine is available without a prescription to everyone 6 months and older, under new guidance for residents of Oregon, Washington, California and Hawaii. The guidance was issued Sept. 17.

Starting Monday September 29th paving will start on W 6th St with an estimated duration of 3-4 days. Paving will start on the corner of Hostetler against the newly placed curb and gutter and run the length of the project. Due to the application rate and temperature of the asphalt access to businesses will be affected for roughly 2-4 hours once the material is placed on W. 6th St.
