Enterprise Zone - Two down; One to go

The Port of The Dalles Board of Commissioners approved an extended enterprise zone for Worldwide Structures Property Company LLC at its Wednesday, July 22, meeting. The tax abatement, already approved by Wasco County, must also be adopted by The Dalles City Council. It is slated to review the agreement on Monday, July 27.

Port to consider building manufacturer for enterprise zone

Worldwide Structures Property Company LLC is requesting a tax abatement in an extended enterprise zone to be considered by The Port of The Dalles Commissioners on July 22. The company is proposing to build a 35,000 square-foot-facility at 3855 River Road. The manufacturing building will be used to modify building materials, assemble all components of a completed home and some commercial structures, and ship the building to site.

Wight said it was a tough year fishing for pikeminnow so far, noting he has to avoid a lot more pelicans with his fishing line when tossing his imitation bate off The Dalles bridge. Good days bring 20 to 30 fish. His best is 48 so far this season. Past years brought double that in a day’s plunking. At $5 to $8 a fish, it’s still worthwhile.
