Dottie said she had to get out for her walk as she is planning a trip to Orlando, Fl. for next spring. Isn’t that a great way to beat the blues?

The Treats are Rolling Downtown TD
Sheila, Levi and Chris Blackburn took some cues from Mario this year as they prepared to set out in Downtown the Dalles for some Trick or Treating. Hundreds, maybe thousands, are gathering right now, 3:03 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29 as the classic Halloween parade of characters are going door to door for some fun-size candy.

Its massive arms held the saw as a toy, and its head twisted and contorted, with greasy hair and a countenance that bared sharp teeth and eyes that reflected orange. A maniacal laugh cut through the sound of the saw as the blades cut deeper into the wood.

Union Pacific fund boosts CGCC welding program
The grant to Columbia Gorge Community College Foundation, an Oregon non-profit, allows the college to obtain oxy-acetylene tanks and a transport cart for gas welding classes.

TDHS Riverhawks Cross Country had a strong showing at IMC Championships, the boys taking first place. Both teams have made it into the state finals set for Nov. 6. Go Hawks!
City of TD Issues License for Ixtapa to Expand Outdoor Seating Area in City Right of Way
Ixtapa will be expanding its outdoor seating capacity with some help from the City of The Dalles. The agreement between the City and Ixtapa was made in light of recent pandemic restrictions which have limited indoor dining capacities.

The Riverhawk’s boys varsity soccer team punched their ticket to the playoffs on Tuesday evening in a close match that saw The Dalles team play some tough defense and score when they needed to in a tight 2-1 victory over Redmond.
The Local Dish: Spring Rolls in Fall
I dipped my rolls into creamy peanut sauce with a bit of the provided chili oil on top for some heat. This makes for the most wonderful bit. The peanut butter provides fat to the dish that compliments the vegetables in the roll. The Thai basil has the most wonderful aromatic smell. It makes you wonder where Montira’s garden is located in the restaurant.
