Woodland Guide presumed drowned after boat swamps in Columbia at mouth of White Salmon
The missing boater has been identified as Michael Shufeldt of Woodland, WA. Michael was not located in the vicinity of the vessel and is presumed deceased. Additional searches of the area using an underwater remotely operated vehicle, have not located Michael at this time. Shufeldt is the owner of Reel Deal Fishing Adventures.

Sorosis Park Playground Closure: New Installation on the Horizon
Work will begin soon to replace the existing Tree Top Playground at Sorosis Park in The Dalles. The last day for public access to the playground is Wednesday, September 25. On Thursday, September 26, temporary fencing will be installed around the perimeter of the playground site to promote safety and limit access to the site.

Local nonprofit Books for Kids Columbia Gorge is on a mission to increase education equity by providing children in Hood River, Wasco, Klickitat, and Skamania Counties with books to keep as their own and is now embarking on a goal to raise $15,000.
