Rewards doubled to $400 for people who report certain illegal fishing offenses which lead to an arrest or citation in Oregon. Cash rewards encourage people to participate in the conservation of Oregon fish and wildlife by calling the Turn In Poachers (TIP) Line if they suspect poaching. Reporting parties may remain anonymous.

Lookout towers will be featured in the first Regional History Forum program at the Original Wasco County Courthouse Saturday, Feb. 1. Forum begins at 1:30 p.m. in the upstairs courtroom of the 1859 courthouse, 410 West 2nd Place, The Dalles.

The Wasco Public Library hosted a hands-on cooking event for children on Jan. 30, featuring students from The Dalles High School Advanced Cooking Class. The Kid-Friendly Cooking Class invited children from pre-K to fifth grade to observe and participate in a simple, fun recipe demonstration.

A woman was arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly stealing a pickup truck in The Dalles and crashing it south of Maupin, according to law enforcement officials.
