Our latest puzzler was much like a real rodeo. A lot of spectators and just a few riders. We had five people put their boots in the stirrups to ride this question for a shot at the winner’s circle.

This week’s trivia question was a 4-parter and it proved to be tougher than a tomb to crack as the local pyramids above originally came with messages on their chimneys that were bound in the secrets of history. While many quickly recognized the establishment as Spooky’s, only two cracked the entire code this week and sent their answers before the official deadline of Aug. 11 at 3:48 p.m
Well puzzlers, 23 of you got it right this week. Alas, there could only be one winner. But, we got some great stories about “cruise the gutters” and a little extra cheese on the history of this busy block.
There were 21 correct answers including our own Sheriff, Lane Magill. So, we took those entries to the roundhouse and pounded the names and numbers as flat as a penny left on the tracks. We put those pennies in our hobo bag of chance and boiled it in our Buddy Burner until the train pulled out, and we ran halfway down the tracks reaching for the last open car. Ian Creed was inside the door holding out a hand like a magician. In his palm was the penny, lucky number 17 - our train hoppin’ winner.
