10th Annual Dancing With The Gorge Stars Crowns a Winner
A new champion was crowned at the 10th annual Dancing With The Gorge Stars event on Friday night. Dufur School teacher, Judy Ford, took home the mirror-ball trophy with her amazing performance of the cha cha to “Barbie Girl”. The event was kicked off with a performance by The Dalles Dazzling Dancers, a group of 12 local students who danced to “Try Anything’” by Shakira.

False Alarm: Klickitat School Lockdown Lifted After Investigation Clears Two Males of Any Threat
At about 9:30 a.m. today, Klickitat County Dispatch received a call from the Klickitat School District. School staff who were monitoring cameras observed what appeared to be two males approaching school property, and one appeared to be armed with a gun.

It was a rainy afternoon here in The Dalles on Monday, January 8th, 2023 when Zeb Stelzer, 15, who lives just outside of Dufur, was seen at the high school. Stelzer is an up-and-coming runner in the Dalles High School. While cross country isn't till the spring, and is taking this opportunity for winter practice to improve his time and distance.
78-unit housing project gains approval for east TD; Construction to start this Spring
The development as planned will put six different buildings on the 3.3-acre lot at 335 NE Lone Pine Drive near The Dalles Bridge. Three would be dedicated to rental apartments with 20 units in each. The other three buildings would contain 6 townhomes each. All buildings will be three stories.

Underwriter Fills out Bingen City Council; Trummel sworn in on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
Bingen City Council gives Craig Trummel the nod to fill the vacant council seat. The insurance underwriter has a background as a private practice lawyer and currently works for WFG National Title Insurance. Trummel expressed his interest in the city’s street and water systems, praising the recent work done on Humboldt Street and noting the unique relationship between the Bingen and the City of White Salmon.
