In response to the growing needs faced by local families, the The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with The Salvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul, has launched a community-wide collection drive to provide food, clothing, and toys for families in need this holiday season.
Tygh Valley Man Arrested in Grocery Outlet Burglary Investigation
On October 26, 2025 at about 10:45pm City of The Dalles Police officers were alerted to a Burglary in progress at Grocery Outlet at 1300 west 6th street. Officers responded and the suspect was gone.

TDPD Detectives Earn State Award for Role in Major Crimes Team Manhunt
On Friday, November 7th, Detectives from The Dalles Police Department were awarded the Unit Citation for Excellence Award from The Oregon Police Officers Association (OPOA) at the annual OPOA awards ceremony.
Detour in Place Next Week as Paving Work Continues on W. 6th Street in The Dalles
Upon completing half of the Hostetler and W 6th St intersection with asphalt, the attached traffic control plan will be implemented. All Northbound traffic will need to detour at Snipes around the work area, making 6th St a single Southbound road between Snipes and Chenowith Loop.
