Bickleton, Wash., July 22, 2023 - The Newell Road Wildfire has burned through multiple structures and more than 30,000 acres creating a hazard to homes, farm structures, crops, livestock, wind farms, the Roosevelt Landfill and the Williams Natural Gas Pipeline.
Demolition is expected to start shortly at the Tony’s Town and County building in downtown The Dalles this month. Crews have already set up fencing around the project site in the 400 block of E, 2nd Street as Konell Construction of Sandy, Ore., is set to get the project underway. The building’s footprint is approximately 11,000 square feet.
