TD Football finishes with 'respect'
The Dalles Riverhawks faced off against league rivals the Redmond Panthers at 7 PM, Friday night. It was the final game of the season and it ended in a blowout loss. In a tough season that was delayed and shortened by a pandemic and resulted in a smaller team, the Riverhawks impressed and gave it their all. They have my respect.

The Dalles Riverhawks offense saw a ton of action, running up 27 points in the first quarter against the Wilson Trojans on Saturday, March 27. TD defense forced fumbles and had great stands that blanked the bigger 6A Wilson as Kade Wilson delivered a monster game and an interception. . Blowout 34-0.
Ridgeview Outshoots, Outscores TD Varsity Boys Soccer Team 6-1 In Tough Game
Throughout the game, The Dalles had a lot of opportunities to put the ball in the net. They were fouled quite a bit and had a lot of free kicks but just couldn't hit on any of them. Their offense was quick, but Ridgeview’s defense was quicker and could keep up with the Riverhawks whenever they had the ball.

Lunker Time at Taylor Lake
Gavin Gooding, 17, of The Dalles, holds a nice trout caught at Taylor Lake this morning, Thursday, March 25. Gooding and friends Will Macomber, Kevin Reed and his daughter, Charlie. Spent the morning at the lake using Powerbait to haul in some nice catches. The lake was stocked on March 15, according to the Oregon Fish and Wildlife website. Eman Queveda, 19, of The Dalles took a little time out on Monday afternoon to test his skills at the skatepark. Below Jake Mick, 27 of Hood River went riding the rails. Lots of sun and 55 degrees made everything alright, and the rest of the week is looking good as well with temperatures hanging in the 50-degree area.
Four Dog Jog
Steve Bradley found a few friends to keep him company on his evening jog in east The Dalles on Tuesday, Feb.23. His run, no doubt, brought a lot of smiles wherever he went, and hey, that’s as many legs as a baseball team. Forecasters are saying the weekend is shaping up with temperatures in the 50s and partially sunny days.
Kicking It
Luciano Alvarado, 15, in black shirt and shorts, kicks a ball to his partner at a Riverhawk soccer practice held on the lower field at Dry Hollow Elementary School on Monday afternoon. The practice was led by Varsity Coach Matt Dallman. Students were just sledding on this field last week.
