Fire crews responded to a house fire at 2513 Old Dufur Road late Thursday morning, where smoke and flames prompted a large emergency presence and road closures in the area.

Evacuation zones have been significantly expanded in response to the Rowena Fire burning near Mayer State Park, according to a 7 p.m. update from the Wasco County Sheriff's Office.
City of The Dalles Launches Summer Road Maintenance Projects Beginning June 16
The week of June 16, 2025, City crews and contractors will begin work on several pavement preservation projects. These chip seal projects will require short duration road closures between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at each location on the date the work is scheduled to take place. Detours will be in place during work hours.
