Columbia Gorge Community College Celebrates 2025 Graduates at Fort Dalles Readiness Center
Columbia Gorge Community College (CGCC) proudly celebrated the achievements of its 2025 graduating class during an in-person commencement ceremony held Friday, June 14, at the Fort Dalles Readiness Center on The Dalles Campus. This year, CGCC awarded a total of 131 diplomas and certificates to students who completed their studies during the 2024-25 academic year.

Rowena Fire Emergency Shelter opening Friday, June 20- Monday, June 23
MCCAC is working hard to assess the emerging needs of the community following the Rowena fire. With a large influx of tourism due to multiple community events this weekend, hotels in The Dalles are booked, and many fire survivors who’ve lost their homes are having difficulty finding somewhere to stay.

Fireworks Use Prohibited Within The Dalles City Limits
The City of The Dalles has declared a state of emergency under Ordinance No. 25-1412 following Wasco County’s order banning fireworks due to fire-related safety concerns. As a result, the use of all fireworks is now prohibited within City limits.
Tooley Water District Water may be Contaminated with Unknown Substances.
Due to the Rowena Wildfire, some structures in the Tooley Water District were destroyed by the fire, and some areas in the water system lost pressure. These conditions may have caused harmful contaminants, including benzene and other volatile organic chemicals (VOCs), to enter the water system.

Public Notice for Storm Lift Station Excavation
Starting June 16th, there will be a lane shift in front of Bi Mart, allowing for the excavation and installation of the 25’ deep, 12’ diameter concrete wet well. The lane shift will utilize the existing shoulder width to the west, towards the Bi Mart Side of W 6th St.
